Lorentzweiler als Hort der Kultur
Das Kunstprojekt « Störende Wahrheiten » im öffentlichen Raum der Gemeinde Lorentzweiler geht in ihre 3. Auflage.
Zielsetzung des Projektes ist die Gemeinde als moderne, offene Gemeinschaft zu präsentieren, in der zeitgenössische Kunst ihren Platz hat. Kunst, die anregt und Debatten auslöst und das soziale Miteinander fördert. Das Event findet in einem zweijährigen Rhythmus statt.
Grundlage jeder Edition bildet ein aktuelles gesellschaftliches Thema. So stand das erste Event unter dem Motto « Anthropozän », die von Menschen verursachte Transformation der Natur. Die zweite Auflage befasste sich mit Fragen nach den Werten, Ideen, auf deren Grundlage wir unsere Gesellschaft gestalten wollen und welche Rolle die Kunst darin spielen sollte. Die diesjährige, die dritte Auflage firmiert unter dem brisanten Motto « Eigentum ».
Wie üblich wurden hierzu fünf luxemburgische Künstler eingeladen, die sich unabhängig auf ihre Art und Weise und mit den von ihnen gewählten Mitteln mit dem Thema auseinandersetzen können : Elisabeth Schilling, Keong-A Song, Jeremy Palluce, Marc Pierrard und das Künstlerduo toitoi.
Eigentum
„ Das Rechtsinstitut des Eigentums entzieht den Gegenständen ihre Brauchbarkeit durch die Menschen und es deformiert die Menschen selbst auf eine Weise, dass sie eines sinnvollen Gebrauchs von Gegenständen gar nicht mehr fähig sind“.
Unser Verständnis von Eigentum bildet den Kern unserer heutigen freiheitlichen Gesellschaftsordnung. Sie basiert, wie der Philosoph und Politikwissenschaftler Daniel Loick sagt, auf der Durchsetzung einer individualistischen Weltsicht und ist gleichzeitig materielle Voraussetzung für die Wahrnehmung aller weiteren elementaren Freiheitsrechten wie Rede-und Meinungsfreiheit. Für den deutschen Philosophen Friedrich Willem Hegel ist das Eigentum gar unabdingbar für eine freie Subjektivität – ohne Eigentum kein freier Willen. Erst im Eigentum offenbart sich das wollende Subjekt.
Diese Konstellation macht es schwer die bestehende Gesellschaftsordnung und Eigentumsverhältnisse anders zu denken. Es hat das Potenzial zu heftigen Kontroversen. Aber es ist mehr denn je notwendig und richtig darüber nachzudenken. Denn die mittlerweile völlig enthemmte Anhäufung von Privatbesitz bedroht in zunehmenden Masse den sozialen Frieden. Sie konstituiert Armut, Ausbeutung und Rassismus.
Im Grunde stellen sich hier die vier kantischen Fragen von Neuem : « Was kann ich wissen ? Was soll ich tun ? Was darf ich hoffen? Was ist der Mensch ? » Ist gar eine neue Aufklärung vonnöten ?

Lorentzweiler, un havre de culture
Pour la troisième fois, l’espace public de la commune de Lorentzweiler accueille le projet artistique « Störende Wahrheiten » (Vérités dérangeantes).
L’objectif de ce projet est de présenter une communauté moderne et ouverte, dans laquelle l’art contemporain a toute sa place : un art qui stimule et suscite le débat, et favorise le vivre ensemble. Cet événement a lieu tous les deux ans.
Chaque édition met en exergue un thème de société actuel. Ainsi, la première édition était placée sous le thème de l’ « anthropocène », la transformation de la nature causée par l’homme. La deuxième édition a traité des valeurs et des idées sur lesquelles nous voulons fonder notre société, et s’est penchée sur le rôle que l’art devrait y jouer. Cette année, la troisième édition se consacre au sujet brûlant de la « propriété ».
Comme à l’accoutumée, cinq artistes luxembourgeois ont été invités à aborder le sujet en toute indépendance, à leur façon, et avec les moyens de leur choix. Il s’agit de Elisabeth Schilling, Keong-A Song, Jeremy Palluce, Marc Pierrard et le duo d’artistes toitoi.
Propriété
Selon le philosophe et politologue Daniel Loick, le droit de propriété prive les objets de leur usage pour les hommes et déforme les hommes eux-mêmes, de sorte qu’ils perdent complètement le sens d’une utilisation pertinente des objets .
Notre conception de la propriété est au cœur de notre modèle de société libérale. Toujours selon Daniel Loick, elle repose sur l’affirmation d’une vision individualiste du monde et constitue en même temps la condition matérielle de l’exercice de tous les autres droits fondamentaux, telles les libertés d’expression et d’opinion. Pour le philosophe allemand Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, la propriété est même indispensable à la subjectivité libre – sans propriété, pas de libre arbitre. Ce n’est que dans la propriété que se révèle le sujet désirant.
Penser autrement l’ordre social et les rapports de propriété existants est rendu difficile par cette constellation, qui a le potentiel de susciter de vives controverses. Mais il est plus que jamais nécessaire et juste d’y réfléchir. Car l’accumulation désormais totalement désinhibée de la propriété privée menace de plus en plus la paix sociale. Elle est constitutive de la pauvreté, de l’exploitation et du racisme.
Se posent au fond les quatre questions kantiennes : « Que puis-je savoir ? Que dois-je faire ? Que m’est-il permis d’espérer ? Qu’est-ce que l’homme ? ». Nous faudrait-il à nouveau un siècle des Lumières ?

Lorentzweiler, a Haven of Culture
For the third time, the municipality of Lorentzweiler stages the art project Störende Wahrheiten or “Disturbing Truths” in its public space.
The aim of this biennial project is to present the municipality as a modern, open community in which contemporary art has its place. Art that stimulates and triggers debate and promotes social interaction.
Each edition presents a topical societal subject matter. The first event was dedicated to the “Anthropocene”, the man-made transformation of nature. The second edition dealt with questions about the values and ideas on which we want to shape our society, and what role art should play in it. This year’s third edition focuses on the hot topic of “property”.
As is customary, five Luxembourgish artists have been invited to address this topic independently, in their own way and with the means of their choice: Elisabeth Schilling, Keong-A Song, Jeremy Palluce, Marc Pierrard and the artist duo toitoi.
Property
According to philosopher and political scientist Daniel Loick, the legal institution of property deprives objects of their usefulness for people, and it deforms people themselves in such a way that they are no longer capable of meaningfully using these objects

Our concept of property forms the core of our current liberal society model. As stated by Daniel Loick, it is based on the enforcement of an individualistic world view and is at the same time a material prerequisite for the exercise of all other elementary freedoms such as freedom of speech and expression. For the German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, property is even indispensable for free subjectivity – without property there is no free will. Only in property does the willing subject reveal itself.
This constellation makes it difficult to think differently about the existing social order and property relations. It has the potential to generate considerable controversy. But it is more than ever necessary and right to reflect up the municipality of Lorentzweiler on it. For the now completely uninhibited accumulation of private property is increasingly threatening social peace. It leads to poverty, exploitation and racism.
Basically, the four Kantian questions arise anew here: “What can I know? What do I have to do? What can I hope for? What is the human being? “Do we need a new Enlightenment?
